Hi, I’m Professor Z, founder of Health and Longevity.
For over 34 years, I’ve been deeply involved in the Western medical system as a doctor of physical therapy, helping countless patients address musculoskeletal issues. But in 2015, I began to experience something that completely shifted my perspective on health and healing. I started noticing significant brain fog and cognitive decline, which led me down a path of frustration and worry. I felt myself physically and intellectually declining, and I realized I couldn’t just accept that. Despite my experience as a healthcare provider, I felt hopeless and powerless, much like the patients I was trying to help. I could no longer ignore the limitations of traditional medicine.
Conventional Western medicine often focuses on symptom control, not root causes. It was clear to me that many of my patients weren’t getting better—they were just managing their symptoms, and that wasn’t enough. I was angry at how pharmaceutical companies had so much control over treatment options, and I was frustrated by the lack of real healing. I knew there had to be another way, one that went beyond symptom management and truly addressed the core issues.
This frustration sparked my interest in functional medicine. I wanted to get to the root cause of dysfunction, not just mask symptoms. Functional medicine offered a holistic approach to health that I had never experienced in traditional settings. It gave me the tools I needed to heal myself—and it has since become a central part of my mission.
My personal mission statement is to help people become awake—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—and to assist them in developing in each of these areas. This mission is the heart of everything I do. Functional medicine became the perfect complement to my work, and it is now my total focus. I’m committed to helping others achieve lasting health, not just temporary fixes. It’s not just about improving physical symptoms—it’s about transforming lives.
I could have retired at 59, but my passion for helping others is stronger than ever. I’m here because I believe in this work, and I want to help you move beyond simply managing your health problems to addressing the true root causes. If you’re ready to break free from the cycle of symptom control and begin your journey to long-lasting health, I’d be honored to walk that path with you.
